Simple DIY Honey & Baby Oil Facial

Simple DIY Honey & Baby Oil Facial Treatment

This easy homemade skincare treatment combines honey and baby oil to help give the skin a soft, moisturized and dewy appearance. The viral claim that it can replace makeup or permanently remove wrinkles is not scientifically established, so think of it as a moisturizing beauty treatment rather than an anti-aging cure.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon pure honey
  • ½ teaspoon baby oil
  • 1 teaspoon plain fragrance-free moisturizer (optional, especially for dry skin)

Instructions

1. Mix the Ingredients

Place the honey in a small, clean bowl. Add the baby oil and mix thoroughly until you have a smooth, glossy mixture.

2. Clean Your Face

Wash your face gently with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser. Pat your skin dry without rubbing.

3. Apply

Using clean fingertips, apply a very thin layer to the face. Avoid the eye area, lips, broken skin and areas with irritation.

4. Leave It On

Leave the mixture on for approximately 5–10 minutes.

5. Rinse

Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and gently pat your face dry.

6. Moisturize

Apply your usual facial moisturizer. During the daytime, finish with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher.

How Often Can You Use It?

Start with once a week. If your skin tolerates it well, you can use it up to twice a week.

Important Skin-Safety Tips

  • Perform a patch test before applying it to your face.
  • Avoid this recipe if you are allergic to honey or any ingredient.
  • Baby oil is generally formulated for the body and may contain fragrance, so it can irritate sensitive facial skin.
  • If you have oily or acne-prone skin, baby oil may feel too heavy or occlusive.
  • Stop using it if you experience burning, redness, itching or swelling.
  • This treatment does not permanently remove wrinkles or replace makeup. Any immediate “glow” is mainly due to moisturization and the skin's surface appearing more hydrated.
